Education: M.S. from Illinois State University; Au.D. from Salus University, Elkins Park, Pennsylvania
Joined Phonak: January 2006
Why did you choose the field of audiology?
Hos: I started out in Speech Pathology like many audiologists, and I realized it wasn’t quite the right fit. So I was talking with our department advisor, and she suggested that I look into audiology. Turns out, audiology was the right fit! I liked the medical side and the fact that I was helping people hear better.
What do you enjoy most about your current position?
Hos: Phonak has the best products in the industry, and this allows me to work with the product for the complete life cycle. Also, being in product management allows you to work cross-functionally, which I love.
What advice do you have for other audiologists?
Hos: Learn to take and make a good impression early on!
What do you like to do outside of work?
Hos: Spend time with my family and friends. Plus, I like to watch HGTV, read and be outside.
What is your favorite sound?
Hos: Oohh, that’s tough. I think what brings me the most joy is when I hear my son say, “Mommy I love you” and when he laughs. That always brightens my day.
What’s one thing people don’t know about you?
Hos: I had a horse growing up and I spent many summers and weekends working out at the barn.
